Media entreprenuear Waheed Alli, has chosen to step down fro the board of STV group plc citing his other business commitments as his reason for doing so.
Alli, a Labour peer and one of the founders of The Big Breakfast said in a statement to the Stock Exchange: “"It is with regret that I have tendered my resignation as a non-executive director of stv group plc, due to the pressure of my other business commitments. I am proud to have played a part in renewing the fortunes of STV and I believe that it has a very exciting future."
Alli also acts as executive chair of media rights company, Chorion.
His resignation has been taken from the board with immediate effect.
Richard Findlay, chairman of stv group plc, said: "On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Waheed for his wise counsel to the Company since his appointment. He has been a valued member of the Board and we wish him every success for the future.”
