Sagittarius hires executive director of strategic partnerships

Digital marketing agency Sagittarius has appointed Simon Etherington as the agency’s executive director of strategic partnerships to support the agency’s global expansion plans.

With 35 years industry experience, Etherington started his career at IBM where he worked for ten years, and then a further eleven years at SAP where he ended up joining the SAP UK Executive Board for four of those years. Most recently, he spent four years as managing director at Sitecore UK where he developed a new Go To Market Strategy and grew the UK customer base from 223 to over 500 before the company was acquired in 2016.

Paul Stephen, chief executive at Sagittarius, said: “As we continue to grow, we acknowledge that the partnerships we have with organisations such as Sitecore and Microsoft are critical to our success. With Simon’s wealth of experience, we hope to build on these existing relationships and develop new ones too.”

Etherington added: "Having worked with Sagittarius in my previous role at Sitecore, I think they are one of the few agencies in the UK that sit in a sweet spot between the consultants and the pure technical systems integrators. When it comes to large digital transformation projects, you need a broad depth of marketing and digital expertise in order to be effective and deliver on the business objectives. Sagittarius has built an extremely impressive team in recent years and has something a bit unique in the agency space."

Sagittarius has over 80 employees located across three UK offices, Ukraine and Sri Lanka and is one of the UK's leading Sitecore and Microsoft Azure partners. It works with domestic and international brands in the travel, transport and manufacturing sectors.
