Owyn's 'Drink to Donate' campaign gives proceeds to Crohn's & Colitis Foundation

For the month of August, Owyn is donating 100% of proceeds from its meal replacement shakes to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation in a recently announced partnership between the two.

Standing for what ‘only what you need’, Owyn’s protein products are plant-based and exclude artificial ingredients or fillers. With 20 grams of protein, all nine essential amino acids and 23 vitamins and minerals, the 300-calorie shakes are nutrient-dense meal replacements for those who have digestive disorders, like Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

The products also undergo an allergen test that seeks out the top eight allergens in order to avoid any risks of cross-contamination.

“There is a new consumer in nutrition looking for cleaner, transparent alternatives. Owyn’s mission is to deliver truth and transparency in everything that we do,” said Mark Olivieri, the chief marketing officer of Owyn, in a press release. “This is why we are winning share from legacy brands in the ready-to-drink nutrition market. We are excited to continue this mission with the introduction of our meal replacement line.”

Laura Wingate, senior vice president of Education, Support and Advocacy of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, added: “The Foundation’s mission is to find cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life for the more than 3 million Americans living with these debilitating digestive diseases.

“One way we do this is by partnering with companies like Owyn to raise awareness of Crohn’s and colitis, and we are appreciative of their support for our mission.”

Like Owyn, other companies are also moving toward plant-based solutions for their products, such as Huggies’ new ‘super-premium’ diapers.
