The Drum Bus- Pitch and Present: Skills For Agency Life

17/04/2015

For the third time, AdWeek Europe brought thousands of delegates from every sector of the ad industry to its natural habitat, London. Amongst the hundreds of debates, panel discussions, sessions, networking events, The Drum thought it would be a good idea to do something a little different. The Drum hired a double decker, open top bus with flames exuding its excellency in producing the fastest advertising news possible. On a sunny Tuesday morning, The Drum Network had a Business Breakfast on the top deck with Tessa Morton, and delegates eager to learn the 'four p's' of perfect presentation skills.

Tessa has spoken at various events for the Drum Network all over the UK and is known for her incredible ability to grasp the audience. She is the founder of the Tessa Morton Partnership, a training company specialising in training the Ad industry. Clinging to the ceiling, we rolled around in the Drum bus whilst Tessa put her own skills to the test by giving a talk on top of a bus that was driving around buzzing Piccadilly during AdWeek, probable prep for her training which is being held at the beginning of May.

Tessa will be holding a one day intensive training course Pitch and Present: Skills For Agency Life for the Drum Network in May focusing on how to ensnare your audience. In this digital age, the pressures of work life leaning on our audiences’ shoulders, we need to learn how to completely captivate them with our presence and what we are offering them. Our audiences are busy, important, distracted and impatient people eager to run away back to real time issues. You need to capture their attention instantly. Therefore as a presenter; you have to be crafty in engaging their complete attention against the backdrop of constant stimulation they are bombarded with on a daily basis. Live communication, such as a presentation, is a medium and needs to be analysed and manipulated like any other media. Tessa will be aiding us in our quest to manipulate the audience, in consequence generating new business through successful pitching and presenting.
